Asian Affairs Committee
ypasia@unasouthernny.org
The Asian Affairs Committee’s mission is to activate and educate the general public regarding issues that pertain to the Asian Community locally and globally, especially those issues which pertain to the United Nation's Millennium Development Goals and current UN Missions within the region.
The Committee does this individually or in partnership with NGO’s by creating programming which directly supports these goals. Events such as fundraisers, panel discussions, and social mixers are centered around addressing concerns Asian countries are facing today: poverty, gender inequality, environmental sustainability, etc. The AAC seeks to increase public awareness of these issues by working with organizations and communities both traditionally and not traditionally engaged in such topics.
