Our Mission
The European Affairs Committee is committed to bringing contemporary European issues, as they relate to the activities and goals of the United Nations and the European Union, to the public through regular scholarly and social events. Europe as a whole (27 states of which are represented at the UN who combined make up the largest financial contributor to the system) is one of the most active and important international players regarding many pertinent contemporary issues. The EU stands at the forefront of such pressing issues as environmental protection, humanitarian rights and international law. Europe is also a very diverse continent, both socially and culturally rich, affording the opportunity to learn about and enjoy a wide variety of issues and regional art and cuisine. The EAC presents these issues in exciting and different formats bringing together New York professionals from a myriad of disciplines.
