The mission of the African Affairs Committee is to develop a pro-active network of interested persons seeking to analyze and address the issues surrounding the developmental process throughout the continent of Africa. Areas of particular focus include political affairs, development, healthcare, and education.

We seek to create awareness about these issues through public outreach, organizing fundraising opportunities, educational events, and sponsoring a speaker series of scholars and professionals with expertise on African affairs. In addition to providing education and public awareness, the Committee will also seek to engage in partnerships with other African-interest organizations and eventually engage in fieldwork to address these issues on the front line.

European Affairs Committee

news and developments, events, resources, how you can get involved, and more.

United by geography but separated by culture, language, history and customs, Europe is a dynamic continent simultaneously grappling with integration and sovereignty. The significance of the European Union, the wars in Eastern Europe, and the implications of its varying domestic and foreign policies highlight the progress cooperation has achieved, the partnerships that remain to be formed, and the obstacles that pose continual difficulties.

The European Affairs Committee's mission is to foster an appreciation and understanding of issues with which Europe is faced, the impact on other nations of whether, how and in what priority to address these issues, and to recognize Europe's role in the international community.

By examining the common interests, goals, and concerns of, in addition to the challenges presented to European nations through formal and informal events, E.A.C. provides a forum in which young professionals and students could engage in dialogue on and learn about the relevance of Europe in world affairs. With this increased awareness and deeper comprehension, E.A.C. both creates opportunities for its members to actively participate in and explore relevant matters with others who share the commitment to enhance and further the efforts and works of the United Nations.

The LAAC provides an interactive forum to discuss issues and opportunities pertaining to the region. Topical areas include economic development, poverty reduction, international trade, political leadership, inter-relationships, and social policy.

LAAC accomplishes its mission in two ways. Primarily, the LAAC organizes fundraising events that support programmatic development efforts of organizations in the Latin American region. This fundraising support is channeled to NGOs, foundations or non-profit organizations involved in rainforest conservation, fair trade, and micro-enterprise projects, to name a few. Second, the LAAC organizes forums and lecture events that facilitate discussion among experts in the field and interested members of the community. Through the events, the LAAC provides an apt framework for active members to network and be proactively involved in making an impact in the Latin American region.
